Last month, I had love at first sight with a Bulgari handbag after stopping by to take a look at their Serpenti line. While I had stepped in to see if they had the pink ombre handbag that I had seen on fashion influencer, Sophie Shohet, another one had sparked my attention.
That was the Bulgari Serpenti handbag in green galuchat leather, gold plated hardware, and a snakehead made of green malachite and black enamel.
This bag will be rated out of five stars according to five factors; price, customer experience, packaging, style and features. For the unboxing and first impressions, you can view the video below.
This bag was purchased for $5850 AUD, which is an affordable rate for an exotic leather bag. If you are looking to purchase an exotic leather bag at an entry-level price, I would recommend it.
From beginning to end, my experience was exquisite. My SA truly went out of his way to ensure that all questions were answered. Every time I had come into the store, there was always champagne on hand, with a little treat on the side. The only downside (and this is me nitpicking) was when I had come into the store a third time as the first piece was a display piece, the second piece had a few scratches on the leather, so the third time’s a charm.
While everything was done up nicely with the box, bow and bag, there was no tissue paper in the packaging this time around. The tissue paper protects the bag from moving around and getting damaged in the box when you are transporting it. When you are paying thousands of dollars, it is expected that you will receive the full package.
Not only can this crossbody bag be worn as a shoulder bag, but you can also lengthen and shorten the crossbody chain, depending on your height. This hands-free low-maintenance bag wins points for its craftsmanship, durable galuchat leather that is scratch resistant (can’t say the same about calf leather), and ability to be a statement bag for such a good price. The size of this bag is 20 cm in length, 14cm in height and a width of 4.5cm. Converted into inches, it is 7.9 inches in length, 5.5 inches in height and 1.7 inches in width. This bag fits all my essentials, including my iPhone 11 Pro.
Bulgari has thought of everything that they could implement to make the bag stand out in a fierce competition against other designers. One of the most unique features about this bag (especially at this price point) is the matching mirror that comes along with it. Inside the bag, there is a pocket that you can slip the mirror into. Another unique feature at this price point is the raincoat that comes along with the bag. While this raincoat doesn’t protect your bag against the pouring rain, it will defend against light sprinkling and is water-resistant. The only other brand that I know of that has raincoat add-ons is Hermes, which is expected at their price points.
Overall, considering the price point, style, and features, this bag is worth the splurge. Would you ever consider buying a bag from Bulgari? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
